Waiting Patiently...

As many of you may already know, I am STILL not a CFI yet. This has everything to do with flying being one of the most expensive things one can attempt to do, compounded by the fact that the only plane at my school that I can do the bulk of my training in, rents at about 300$ per hour. Which means, that to get my Initial CFI done would conservatively run about 10 hours or 3000$, practically, i've never been ready for ANY checkride on time. I have just received 3000$ in the form of a 0% interest credit card (and would you believe it, there is a credit crisis going on right now! Thank God for good credit). Of course none of this takes into account the fact that I still won't have my CFI-Single and CFI-Instrument, both of which are critical to my actually attempting to make money at this.

*Sigh* The life of a pilot marches on...

Welcome!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Adam Wilson I want to welcome you to my blog. I'll write about my tales and travels as I work my way towards becoming an airline pilot. Currently I am a Private/Multi-Engine pilot with an Instrument rating. Starting tomorrow, my dad and I will be taking a trip across the country and back as I build time for my Commercial pilot rating. I'll write about our trip as we progress and if time and workload allows i'll even try to write from the airplane as we are flying along. If my computer cooperates I will also upload pictures as we go.

You are welcome to track our progress in real-time via ATC radar courtesy of FlightAware.com. If you wish to track us, just follow this link, http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N1040D. We will be flying a Cessna 182 Skylane with the tail number 1040D (and for all you tax afficionados out there, yes, it is named after the Depreciating Holdings tax form) currently on lease-back to Northway Aviation, the flight school I am learning at.

I look forward to hearing from all of you and I wish you all fair winds and blue skies!
